Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: August 6, 2026

Buffalo’s Locksmith is committed to making buffaloslocksmith.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, speech input or other assistive technology. Accessibility is treated as part of maintaining the site, not a one-off project.

Conformance status

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. The site is currently partially conformant: most of the standard is met, and we are working through the remaining items listed below. We do not claim full conformance while any known issue is outstanding.

What we have done

  • A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches on every page.
  • Every page uses real landmark regions (banner, navigation, main and contentinfo) so assistive technology can jump straight to the content.
  • Each of the three navigation regions carries its own accessible name.
  • Every page has exactly one h1, and headings step down one level at a time so the document outline can be used for navigation.
  • All images carry alternative text; images that convey nothing are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Icon-only controls (social links, the menu open and close buttons, the footer logo) have accessible names rather than being announced only as “link”.
  • Text color was corrected where it did not meet the 4.5:1 contrast minimum against its background.
  • Interactive targets are at least 24 × 24 CSS pixels so they can be operated comfortably on a touchscreen.
  • Visible focus outlines are present and have not been suppressed.
  • The page zooms to 200% without loss of content, and the viewport does not block pinch-zoom.
  • Form fields on the contact page have properly associated labels.
  • The background video is muted, carries a captions track, and respects prefers-reduced-motion.
  • An accessibility toolbar is available on every page for contrast, text-size and readability adjustments.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following and are working on them:

  • Some third-party embeds, including the Google Map on the contact page and the reCAPTCHA widget on the contact form, are controlled by their providers and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. If one of these blocks you, call or email us and we will complete the request for you directly.
  • Automated testing cannot catch everything. Reports from people actually using assistive technology are the most valuable feedback we get.

How we test

The site is checked with automated tooling (axe-core, Lighthouse and our own accessibility-tree audit) alongside manual keyboard-only testing. Accessibility is re-checked whenever templates change, not only at launch.
